Honoring the Memory of Joel Mwine:
A Compassionate Soul Gone Too Soon

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, Joel Mwine, on Saturday, March 23, 2024. He was just 37 years old, but in his short time with us, he left an indelible mark on all who knew him. We are flying Joel’s body from Texas to Connecticut for his memorial and burial service.

Joel was the embodiment of kindness, compassion, and thoughtfulness. One friend said, “He was such a rare gem of a person. He was easy to love. He had this joy about him and I never saw him angry.” He had a unique way of making everyone around him feel cared for and supported. His consistent presence in our lives brought a sense of joy and warmth that was truly infectious.

Remembering Joel's Passions

Music was one of Joel's greatest loves. He had a deep appreciation for all genres and would often encourage his friends and family to "be strong" and "be good" through the power of song. His infectious enthusiasm for life and his ability to uplift those around him were truly remarkable. One of his favorites was “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay.

In this difficult time, I call upon the community to support our family. The financial burden that we now face due to the untimely passing of our brother is immense, and your contribution to this GoFundMe campaign will help ease our stress and allow us to continue honoring Joel.
