Joel & Nick's 100 Mile Race

I've only gone and agreed to guide-run my good friend Nick Thorley through a 100 mile race near Nottingham on 11/12 September.

Nick is blind, and I am sighted, so we will run together holding a short strap. Our aim is to run it in under 24 hours. That's 24 hours during which I have to not only keep running but keep guiding and giving instructions. I don't think this is going to be easy.

Last year, Resound Worship (who I work for) produced a unique album of songs for churches on ecological themes. It is so important that churches sing about these things if Christians are going to play an active part in responding to the climate crisis. Our hope is to take this album, with a band, on tour during COP26 this November, when awareness of these issues will be at its peak and we have the best opportunity to spread this message. Including a stop in Glasgow! I'm hoping to raise £5000 towards the costs of putting on the tour.

Friends, would you sponsor me to run this race and raise these funds? I make it £50 per mile.

If you're interested, you can hear the album Doxecology here .

Right, I'd better go for a training run!

Resound Worship is a working name of the Song & Hymn Writers Foundation (SHWF). SHWF exists to enrich the song of the church through writing and publishing new songs and hymns, discovering and nurturing new writers, resourcing grassroots songwriters in local churches and influencing the wider Christian music publishing industry.
