Joel Phillips Medical Bills & House Payment

Hi, my name is Deb and I am looking to get donations for my 50 year old nephew Joel. He was taken to the emergency department for what appeared to be a mild heart attack. They did a cardiac catheter and discovered that he has an anomalous coronary artery (ACA) which is a coronary artery that has an abnormality or malformation that happens at birth. It is the left artery that is the problem. Basically it formed in the wrong place. Good news it is fixable but only through open heart surgery. Joel has two very young children ages 8 and 2. He's been working for the postal service for a few years now so hopefully his health insurance covers most of the cost but you know how copays and deductibles go. He and his partner are in the process of buying a doublewide trailer to give his family a more permanent place to live. He will be out of work for several months so any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Update; They are going to release him today. He will meet with the surgeons in ten days to set up an appointment for surgery. The cat scan confirmed that he does not have any blockages or immediate threat of a heart attack, ergo he is no longer in an emergency state. So he can go home ! Not back to work for a while longer as he will need to take it easy.
