Hi, I am Duppy - Joel and Sarah's friend and teammate in Skagway, Alaska.

I can't believe we are making another one of these. But, because cancer has a special place in its cold heart for our Skagway family - and because our healthcare system is expensive and, to be frank, broken - another one of our family members is asking for our help yet again.

100% of all funds raised will go to the Probst-Turner family and will try to update as much as we can weekly.

On Nov 25th Joel was feeling ill and Sarah rushed him to the hospital in Prescott, AZ (their winter residence where his daughters attend school) where a mass was discovered. Upon further testing, it was found to be Burkitt Lymphoma and an immediate treatment plan was formed. Joel's health has quickly deteriorated and his treatment plan has been expedited. On Dec 21st Sarah and Joel flew to Seattle and is currently receiving treatment at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Their two daughters were reunited with them on Dec 27th and now everyone will stay in Seattle while Joel undergoes cancer treatment.

In short: Our 41-year-old husband, father, son, brother and friend is fighting for his life against advanced stages of Burkitt Lymphoma. Funds raised here will go towards:

Medical expenses and consultations not covered by insurance
Treatment not covered by insurance (including a potentially life-saving treatment for his gene mutation)
Travel expenses for visiting specialists out of state (such as Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, Seattle)
Caretaking for his kids and other family members
Living expenses; for the relocation of his wife Sarah and two young daughters Hayden and Elly from Arizona to Washington. And also to assist with everyday expenses as they will exhaust their PTO.
