Joey King Memorial Fund
I feel very awkward, but also privileged to bring you my story of Joey King. We hadn't known each other long -- just since November of 2020, in fact.
It was the 7th day of November when my family and I took over our delivery business and Joey was introduced as a 'superstar' by the seller. That description was not wrong. At the end of that very long first day, another driver abandoned their post, leaving more than 70 packages undelivered. Without hesitation -- and not knowing my family or myself from Adam, Joey jumped right in and delivered well into the night to get each and every package delivered to our customers.
This was not Joey's only outstanding act of commitment to his work ethic. His efforts were noted day-in and day-out when he arrived before his co-workers and left after the job was done. In fact, he was one of only three drivers to attain a 99.5% performance rating during our busiest season of the year! He made that look easy -- and it was not.
I didn't know Joey well, but I knew Joey to be a kind-hearted, easy-going, supportive team player that did what he could to help out his co-workers whenever and where ever he could.
We all learned about Joey's passing on January 5th, 2021, and we are devastated.
While our new little company will feel this loss for many days, weeks and months to come, our loss pales in comparison to the loss of his brother Jeff King, and the rest of Joey's family.
I hope that Joey's family and others will join me in sharing their stories (and pictures) of Joey as we face the daunting task of saying goodbye.
I started this GoFundMe campaign to memorialize Joey and to financially support Joey's family after his very sudden and shocking passing. I hope you will give what you can. I will.
