Joey Patchen's Cancer treatment
Donation protected
On September 22, 2023, Joey was diagnosed with a fast-growing, aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma with kidney involvement in both kidneys. To give an idea of just how aggressive this disease is, two weeks ago the largest masses on his kidneys were 7 cm and 5 cm; now, those same masses are larger than the kidneys themselves. Since his diagnosis, Joey has been unable to work due to a tremendous amount of hospital appointments (luckily, at MD Anderson in Houston). While Joey would never outright ask for monetary donations, mounting medical bills and less income have made this GoFundMe a necessary action. Many friends and family members have asked what they can do to help, and we believe with his current financial situation, this is the best way for loved ones to show their support.
Below is a list of already-completed appointments:
Lymph node biopsy
MRI
PET scan
Bone marrow biopsy
Fertility preservation
Ultrasounds
Stent procedure (left kidney)
Numerous blood labs
Consults with two oncologists
Joey hopes to start chemo by the end of this week, and is expecting an 18-week treatment. Thank you all so much in advance for your love, prayers, and support. Joey will be 30 years old in November, and we hope to see many years beyond that!
