My name is Joe and I was diagnosed with a very rare heart condition called Ebstein's anomaly. It is a heart defect that I was born with, but over the last few years it has been affecting my health to the point I have a hard time doing the simplest things. Breathing, walking up stairs, jogging, and now being able to even hold my son. Throughout my life I was told that this was never going to affect me, although the last few years things have changed. I've seen 6 cardiologist's since then that have all informed me that I need to have open heart surgery AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Over the last year I put off the surgery due to circumstances we didn't forsee. We lost our puppy Rosie and after exhausting most of our resources to save her (she fought so hard), we sadly had to put her down. She was our baby girl that we loved and adored for the last ten years. She was our kid, but after our tragic loss we found out my wife was expecting our first child. A baby boy we named Oliver.
He came into this world by C-section after 48 hours of labor. Shortly before my son was born in April, I found out the surgery I need to save my life and be able to see my son become a man, could not be put off any further. I need to have the surgery IMMEDIATELY!
All of the cardiologists referred me to a doctor at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is the best in the world and specializes in the condition I have. Unfortunently, with everything that's happened I dont have enough funds to cover my surgery. There are transportation costs as we will be driving there and back with my wife, son, sister, and sister in-law. There is also the cost for lodging, hospital stay, food, and other expense. Our family really needs some help!!!!!!!!
We leave for Minnesotta June 14th and have to be there by the 19th. My surgery is scheduled for the 21st and recovery will take about 3 weeks. Any little thing you can do is an extreme blessing to our family! We appreciate it more than you know! Thank you!
