Erika Yulizabeth paz
Born sep 16 2000

Works at laser latino, a company that sells all metal cutting and engraving machines. She promotes events and works a phone selling machines as well. She’s hard worker and devoted. Loved by many.

Young, cheerful, hilarious, has the biggest and sweetest heart I’ve ever known. Her love and compassion towards everyone around her, her empathy and sympathy for everyone makes her a truly one of a kind person.

A devoted wife, a caring and loving sister to three beautiful younger sisters and a wonderful daughter, her dream had always been to start a family of her own and help her mom and sisters.

she was travelling to a town where she grew up on the south coast of Colombia (tumaco) visiting friends and saying her goodbyes as she was getting ready to move to Canada with me. on Saturday July 8 At around 6am, her friend and her got on a motorcycle and dropped off a girl friend at home. On the way back home she got struck by a driver coming towards them on the opposite side of the road who claims to have lost control of his vehicle. Erika lost her foot on impact and her friend suffered a major head injury from which she has been recovering. The driver of the vehicle also rammed another unknown motorcycle with an unknown operator.

Erika yulizabeth got taken to a hospital where they refused to Air transfer her to her city of origin, Cali, and the roads were closed up by guerrilas so there was no traffic coming in or out.

As you know, hospitals in Colombian towns aren’t well equipped and awfully staffed for most situations. She had an infection on her leg when she arrived and it took the surgeon more than 8 hours to finally operate, by then he had to amputate over a foot from the original injury above her knee

Theres video evidence and testimony that the driver who hit them had been drinking all night and the people who saw everything say he refused to blow on the breathalyzer. However, due to the corruption of law enforcement, on the report it says he had 0% alcohol which leads to all of us believe he bribed the officers.
We then were informed that since he was some big oil company official, everyone is afraid of him and no one wants to help… as if he bought everyone off.

Insurance is refusing to cover anything and we’re fighting that, but in the mean time I’m trying to get her the help she needs at a decent rehabilitation clinic make sure she gets the best possible treatment to help her recover.

The medical system in Colombia is also quite corrupt and only money results in progress. The treatments here are very, very expensive. Her prosthesis alone is being quoted at over 30 million pesos (about 10,000 CAD)

Unfortunately the medical bills are quickly stacking up and we really need help.
Please consider helping me help my wife, she’s wonderful and worthy of any and all help, and that is not just love bias. Thank you for taking the time to read this, we appreciate your prayers and support and thank you for any help. God bless.
