Johanita needs help to pay for medical costs

Johanita is a brave little girl who has defied the odds to reach her fifth birthday. She has come a long way in her battle with cancer. She has had several surgeries to remove a cancerous brain tumor that was found when she was 18 months old. She has undergone radiation and chemotherapy as well as other treatments and procedures. Recently, she needed two more minor surgeries to replace a brain shunt. Through all of this, she has grown as a happy and loving child in a wonderful family.
Johanita's family lives in Ecuador. It is a world where medical insurance is costly and many things are not fully covered. Despite working extremely hard, her family has been left with crippling debt. Johanita's father works as a scuba dive guide and tour guide, managing multiple jobs that take him far from home for months at a time to meet the needs of his family. Her mother holds the family together on her own while he is away at work.
They have been told that Johanita will need more surgery in the near future for her shunt. Johanita's cancer has not returned and her prognosis is now very good, but when the shunt becomes blocked, it causes swelling in her brain that is life-threatening.
These parents have been through incredible difficulty in the past four years and they have put forth a superhuman effort for their daughter. Johanita has also been a champion and she has made it this far. They desperately need some help with overwhelming debts, as well as increased costs for medications and rehabilitation. On top of this, they will need to save money to prepare for the next surgery. Their financial burden is more than anyone should have to bear on their own. They have shown that they are willing to do anything for their daughter and they are one of the most deserving families I know.
Now, Suganthan Vishnu Krisnarajah and Shams Syed, two philanthropic business owners from Canada have joined the fight. They will embark on a trip across Canada in a Lamborghini to raise enough money to ease the burden for Johanita's parents and to allow her to receive the medical care she needs. This tour begins in Cape Spear, Newfoundland and continues until they reach the Pacific Ocean.
I would be happy to answer any questions about Johanita's situation or what can be done to help these wonderful people.
