John and Annette Clouse - Battling Steep AML Costs
Donation protected
Our parents, John and Annette Clouse, have walked through many trials together throughout their 48 years of marriage, but this last year has presented a trial of a different nature. Annette was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) early in 2020. With the help of excellent doctors and nurses (and a wonderfully willing brother who was a perfect donor match), she received a bone marrow transplant on Jan. 5th 2021. As always, our parents are holding their own, pushing through with positive attitudes, faith firm in our Savior, Jesus Christ, and lots of love and laughter!
But as we know, life-threatening illnesses can require a lot of time and money. There have been so many doctor appointments, multiple hospital stays and medications. Each trip to the hospital is a two-hour round trip for John, and their vehicle. After this 30+ day hospital stay for the transplant, Annette will be required to be in an approved hotel, closer to her medical team, for up to 30 days after her release from the hospital. And then, the doctors appointments every other day will kick in. There is still a long road ahead. We cannot begin to imagine all that they’ve gone through this year, but we can imagine the stress over paying the hospital bills and other unforeseen expenses that have or will come their way.
So many of you have graciously asked how you can help… donating here is something that would be meaningful. If you would prefer to have money directly transferred via Venmo, please use @John-G-Clouse.
John and Annette would say that your friendship and prayers are enough, but as a family, we see the need for your help as soon as possible.
Thank you each, for your willingness to bless their lives and make our burdens lighter. We appreciate your friendship and the love and light you share with our family.
