John and Caryn Tresler

Hi, my name is Ashley and I am looking to raise funds for my friend Caryn and her family. I have watched them struggle and keep it all together for their kids for so many years. It seems as though events keep happening that weigh her down and cause them to struggle financially and emotionally a little more each time. Her and her husband have 3 children ages 15, 12 and 8. In 202 1, their middle child was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes (where the pancreas does not create enough insulin for the body to transport the sugar properly. This type cannot be cured.) She was hospitalized an hour away for multiple medical issues. She has been hospitalized several times since (including twice just this year!) and is preparing for a long hospital stay after the holidays for an unknown length of time. During her stay, Caryn will have to make multiple trips to buffalo and back to be with all her children as much as possible.

As if that wouldn't be a struggle without further complications, Caryn's van broke down and the shop started working on it. They came across and fixed multiple parts of her van not working properly until finally the bill was at a whopping $1,800 and then they tell her the transmission is shot and the whole vehicle is garbage. She still owes the bill and is now completely out of a vehicle. She has another vehicle being offered to her, however she would need to come up with $6,800 to purchase it.

Things were looking great when Jon started a brand new full-time great paying job. They were going to be able to catch up on some bills and get their car fixed. However, not long after starting, he was among those who were laid off causing them to become a one income household. Due to lack of hours at the old job and getting laid off at the new one, their bills have all fallen even more behind and they jeopardize getting everything taken away if they aren't able to catch up.

Luckily she has been able to reach out to local charities to make sure her children have an okay Christmas. With your help, I hope to provide them with the funds to get a new (to them) vehicle and make some of their bills current (like rent and heat!) and in good standing.
