John and Erna Shaydak's Salvation
Donation protected
My grandparents, John Shaydak, 71, and Erna Shaydak, 86, have lived at thier house in Atascadero, California for 46 years. They raised my mother, and for a time me and my sister in that house. Recently my grandfather decided to renovate the house to make them more comfortable in thier later years. At this time they are still paying off those renovations. My grandfather is a vietnam war veteren and my grandmother lived in berlin in world war II, after all that the only thing they wanted to do was live a quiet life in a home they made so nice and comfortable for themselves. Unfortunatly after all these years the creek has finally eaten away the bank enough to put thier house, their entire world, in danger of collapse. The Atascadero police department, the Atascadero fire department, Red Cross and normal every day community members of Atascadero need to be commended, at this point, for in my grandparents time of need they came to help. Today 2/08/2017 all these wonderful people came to my grandparetns house to help remove as many of thier possesions as they possibly could from the house. I cannot thank them enough for this deed. As of right now John and Erna Shaydak are going to be staying at a motel, until they can find a more permanent residence. Unfortunatly, even with all the effort from the community, this will not be enough to help them resolve this issue in its entirety. If this coming storm is as bad or even worse then the last one I fully predict that the house will end up in the stream bed by tomorrow or the day after. We are going to need help from you. I am asking the public to please donate anything you can, to help my grandparents in any possible way. I have set the goal at $100,000 but honestly, I really have no idea how much money this catastrophe is going to take to deal with. I cannot describe how much it would mean to my entire family if we were to meet, and indeed, excede the goal ,I created to help my grandparents. As you may have guessed, we will need the money as soon as possible, for my grandmother is on oxygen almost 24 hours a day and this entire ordeal has left her health in a precarious position. So please donate anything you can be it 10 cents or 100 dollars.
