John and Ian’s Great Glen Way walk
The photo shows me 4 years ago after my third operation for throat cancer. The first two operations involved removing the Squamus Cell carcinoma from inside my throat which had spread down inside. This operation was taking the cancer out with robotic surgery down my throat and at the same time this neck dissection to remove glands. I have now been 4 1/2 years clear now and my last checkup is in November this year then I’m all clear. Unfortunately the year after I contracted throat cancer I had malignant melanoma in my back. They operated on this and I have been all clear for 4 years so fingers crossed I will get signed off on that next year.
The medical care I have received from the NHS has been outstanding and I thought I would do my bit to pay something back.
So me and my mate Ian are walking the great glen way in Bonnie Scotland - 90 miles. All proceeds going to Cancer Research UK. Your donation goes straight to go fundme and then transfers to the charity once walk is completed. Thanks for your donations
