John and Tina Ward - Family’s Final Wishes

Hi, my name is Patty Newton and I am raising funds to support my dear friends, John and Tina Ward. As many of you know, back in February 2022, John had a routine EGD due to Barret's Esophagus. At that time, the doctor found a suspicious mass. That same month, John received the news that he had Esophageal Cancer. After intense surgery removing half of John's esophagus and half his stomach as well as 11 lymph nodes, he has had a tremendous battle going through chemo and has had difficulty eating. The particular type of cancer that John has is not usually found in the esophagus, and there are only 20 cases worldwide of this rarity. After this intense struggle for the past year and a half, John and Tina received the news this week that his cancer is back - with a vengeance - and according to the Oncologist, John has 2-4 months to live. They will be calling in Hospice care, and trying to make John as comfortable as possible as well as granting some of his last wishes, including a brothers' trip and a weekend getaway with his immediate family.

That's where I come in. These are dear friends of mine that I worked with at American Buildings for many years. I would like to help with these last wishes to remove (or at least diminish) the financial strains and give them precious family time. I went through this with my own Father - and I know how much of a toll sickness takes on a family - even if there is no financial burden. These last days will be some of their most treasured memories as a family.
