John Bilecky Urgently Needs Your Help

John is suffering from memory problems and is living in an assisted living facility

John Bilecky once again needs your help. This is his sister Mary Jo, and I am beginning a new GoFundMe for him.

Last year, many of you generously gave to the fundraiser started for John after his cancer diagnosis. He thanks you for that and is grateful for your help!!

However, he got about 1/3 of the way through to his goal. Now, we are hoping to raise more money, because in a year, John’s situation has drastically changed for the worse. He’s in danger of becoming homeless.

He successfully beat back the cancer, which is great news! However, he’s suffering from memory problems that are NOT improving.

John has had a difficult year. He left Pittsburgh after breaking up with his girlfriend. He moved back to Charlotte, North Carolina for a little while, but then took up an offer from a friend to live in Las Vegas. That didn’t work out. John relapsed and ended up at Impact rehab center, where he got back on track. He’s attending meetings and staying sober.

John urgently needs funds to defray rent and expenses

However, John can no longer take care of himself. He’s currently living in a senior citizens facility. His entire Social Security check barely pays his rent. He’s got urgent expenses beyond rent that need to be covered. As I previously said, John is in danger of eventually becoming homeless.

Right now, I’m managing his finances and hope to keep him safe and solvent. I’m helping out financially as best I can, but my own funds are limited. John needs more help than I can give him.

The plan is to keep him on a budget. If we could raise at least 30K, that should be enough to keep a roof over his head for a couple of years at least. I live in Boston, Massachusetts, which makes the situation more difficult for me to manage. The long-term plan is to find him a place to live on the East Coast. But for now, the facility he’s living in is keeping him safe.

I’m also asking any friends or family who live in California to give him a call or even a visit. He’s staying at the Arbor Vista Assisted Living facility on East Washington Blvd in Pasadena. It would really cheer him up to see familiar faces. If you have his cell number, please give him a call!
