A little back story...

John Blair had suffered heart failure from an underlying condition he was unaware of. His heart condition will require constant care and medications. John had to be on life support for 3 weeks and was in a coma during the time he was on that machine. He stayed in the ICU unit at Tufts for another 3 weeks due to kidney failure, issues with clots, and trouble getting his blood pressure to regulate. During the process of putting him on life support, there was damage done to his right leg and john will have to learn to walk again as the nerves slowly recover. Finally, when his Kidneys recovered enough he was released to Ascutney Rehab to learn daily life skills such as self-care, maneuvering around in his wheelchair, getting in and out of bed safely, and cooking. John will be working hard with daily rehab at home and counsel as well as learning how to cope with such a drastic change in life.

We are asking for financial support so John can concentrate fully on his recovery and rehab and not have to be worried about not working at this time. Funds will be used to get his home handicap accessible .... needing handicap rails, bars and eventually this spring a wheelchair ramp out front of his home. Funds will also be used for continued physical therapy and rehab that insurance does not cover, monthly expenses, bills and food. We are so so grateful that John has come this far and with all of your support, we truly believe he stands a better chance of getting closer to walking on his own & regaining enough strength, conviction and courage to get back to his life!!
