John Chandler's Request for Assistance

Hi, my name is John Chandler, and I am a barber based in Amarillo, Texas. Barbering has always been my passion. I am the co-founder of the Union Barbershop, a small business on the North side of Amarillo. I have proudly served the community and surrounding areas since 1963 with high-quality service and low prices.

Over the last 40 years, I have worked with many organizations and have been featured in roughly ten different written and visual news outlets, receiving awards and recognition throughout the community. Recently, my wife was diagnosed with stenosis in her head, with 65 and 50 percent blockage in her arteries. These circumstances have prompted several trips to Dallas, Texas, for appointments, treatments and surgeries. With the skyrocketing prices of her medications (some being as much as $1200 each month per injection), travelling expenses, and the Covid pandemic, I am finding it more challenging to meet my financial obligations at home and at my barbershop.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated as I continue to offer quality service to every customer, sustaining the culture of warmth and community closeness that has always been the unique nature of the Union Barber Shop.
