Help John “aka Brumby, aka Chowder” Brumbaugh

As many of you know by now, in late March John was diagnosed with “APL” Leukemia.

Upon diagnosis he spent the next 46 days at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury, MA. where he received round the clock medical attention and began an aggressive chemo treatment plan. John wished to express a very special and heartfelt “Thank You you to all the medical staff for your wonderful care, support, and daily encouragement” !!!”

During his hospital stay he went through daily chemo treatments and endured multiple bone marrow biopsies, a hematoma on his back, a blood clot in his lung, heart inflammation, an allergic reaction, and insomnia…. just to name a few of the battles he has already overcome so far!

The good news is John’s body has responded well to the treatments and as of last Friday he was able to be released home for outpatient treatment at the VA, Jamaica Plain, Medical center.

John still has a long road ahead of him with an additional 28 weeks of chemotherapy. He is unable to return back to work during the duration of his treatments.

If you have spent any amount of time with John, then you know it’s impossible to not be impacted by his love to live life to the fullest and his silly goofy larger than life laughter … it’s truly infectious!!

His spirits have been high and he has been so encouraged by the outpouring of love and support. Please continue to keep him in your prayers! John is in the biggest fight of his life but he is not alone !
