John Clinton needs help to overcome a health and financial dilemma.
If you don’t happen to know John, he is quick to smile and has a droll sense of humor. He also has a big heart.
John joined Lions Clubs International in 1965. In 2014-2015 he served as District Governor out of the Mill Creek Washington club. John's no stranger to other service either.
John began a lifelong dedication to helping others as a Boy Scout where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He spent his summers as a Scout Camp Counselor. His lifelong service to Scouting earned him recognition as a Silver Beaver Award recipient, one of Scouting’s highest adult awards. He continues serving to this day as a member of Eagle Scout Review Boards.
John is now 79 and lives alone on a modest income. For most of the past 14 years, John has supplemented his Social Security and limited retirement funds by taking interim jobs. Those jobs? Helping companies resolve accounts receivable issues.
The unexpected happened several years ago when John’s teeth suddenly began breaking off. This significantly affected his professional appearance. Subsequently, jobs assignments diminished.
His dentist has recommended John not wait any longer. He needs full mouth dental extraction to avoid more serious health issues. Then John needs to be fitted with dentures. Because of his limited finances, John has not able to get this work done. He’s even pursued community health assistance but this avenue proved futile.
To compound matters, John’s lack of work opportunity has depleted his savings and forced him to delay critical roof and foundation repairs to his small home. These need fixing so they don’t lead to more serious issues.
If we can get John over this bump in the road, he’s raring to go back to work helping other people!
