John Cook Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On Friday, May 10, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, John Cook, suddenly passed away. The world lost a bright, shining light on that day. A man who cared about all those around him, his intuitive and creative nature made him an easy person to talk to and philosophize with. He was gracious, generous and selfless with his time and energy. He was a master craftsman, creating wooden works of art that reflected the beauty he saw in the world around him. People like John are such a precious gift, the people who never give up, the peace keepers, the people who always look to the bright side of things and lovingly encourage others to do the same.
Everyone who knew John is acutely aware of his deep love and respect for his wife, Vera, and the pride and love he had for all three of his boys. They meant the world to him and were his greatest concern. During this incredibly difficult time for those he loved the most, we would like to extend a helping hand with expenses. John would give the shirt off his back for anyone and for those who wish to return the favor, this Go Fund Me has been made available. All donations will be given directly to Vera, to use for whatever needs she sees fit.
In the words of one of John’s favorite poets, Baxter Black, from
“Take Care of Yer Friends”...
“Friend is a word that I don’t throw around
Though it’s used and abused, I still like the sound
I save it for people who have done right by me
And I know I can count on if ever need be”
