John Crockett and Melanie Ervin-Crockett

Hi, I'm Annie and I am raising funds for John and Mel to help them cope with unexpected outcomes from John's heart surgery. He had an aortic valve replaced and that part went beautifully, but he suffered a 'stroke-like event' while on the heart lung machine: He now has aphasia and other symptoms like those of a severe stroke. The good news is that he knows everyone, can speak, and is determined to recover. He has been in the hospital for over a week and will be going to rehab; we don't know for how long. Mel is a fierce advocate for him and has been at the hospital as much as possible, to work with him, help build his strength, and get him better. She has obviously had to miss a lot of work to do this. She has also had to arrange for them to move from the 2 story townhome in which they live, to a single story unit, so John doesn't have to navigate stairs. Moving costs, collateral expenses, and John's lost income are adding up and she has asked for help. Please give what you can to help them in this unexpected difficult time. Thank you.
