John David Gates

On October 9th, 2021 John Gates of Concord, NH - formerly from Lebanon, PA went into sudden cardiac arrest while at home with his family. His parents took immediate action in calling 911 and performing CPR before help had arrived. The EMTs were able to restart his heart and safely transport him to Concord Hospital where he had to be resuscitated once more before being flown to Mass General. There, he had three more cardiac episodes before being sent to Boston Children’s Hospital where he is currently in the CICU.

John is a happy, healthy, 7 year old boy with no underlying health concerns. The team at Boston Children’s is diligently working on a diagnosis and for John, and he has gone through so much trauma, and has taken everything that has been thrown at him with bravery and strength.

John has always been a sweet, caring, loving boy - with his only concerns is that everyone around him be as happy as he is. The family appreciates all donations, shares, well wishes through this troubling time. Any such donation will be put towards both his medical expenses and any incurring costs on the way to recovery.
