On Saturday morning, Jan. 27th, John had an Aortic Aneurysm. We are so incredibly grateful to the EMT's, Doctors, nurses and the Life Flight crew who saved his life seconds before he lost it. John had open heart surgery and they were able to repair his aorta. He survived and that's the most important thing! However, when his aorta tore a blood clot was sent into his spine resulting in a spinal cord injury and leaving him partially paralyzed from the waist down. We are hoping and praying that this is temporary and that he will regain some or all of his function again. Its a marathon, not a sprint and we are happy with every baby step.
Johns recovery will be slow. He is still in ICU. In order to strengthen his heart he needs to move which is something he can't physically do right now so they come in every day and move his body for him. They are working on getting him to be able to sit up on his own right now.
Eventually he will be moved to a rehabilitation hospital that specializes in spinal cord injuries. They expect that he will be there for several weeks to several months.
Tiffany runs a small business that they financially depend on and while she thinks she can do it all, the truth is that she cant leave John while he is critical and the business will have to run at a small fraction of what was normal. The financial strain is quickly becoming overwhelming.
I am hoping to raise enough money to help with the medical bills that aren't covered by his insurance (which are already getting high), household bills due to her (and his) inability to work full time right now , months of daily trips down to the medical center (Her car broke down today! Because when it rains it pours! And the cost to repair it is exorbitant.) and anything else that might be needed for Johns recovery (ramps, etc).
The smallest amount is so appreciated! And if you cant help financially we are so grateful for extra prayers!
Thank you all!
