John Flick's Liver Transplant
Donation protected
When John Flick went to the emergency room on April 8th with flu symptoms, he never expected what the doctors there ultimately told him. His liver was failing and, frankly, this was way out of their league. After transport to Einstein Medical Center in Philly, the team there confirmed that John was suffering from acute liver failure and it was worsening by the hour. Within 24 hours it was clear he'd need a new liver. As John and his support network waited for a viable liver, his condition worsened. While a week doesn't seem like a long time, for John and his family/friends it felt like a lifetime. On April 14th, a viable liver finally arrived and the transplant was completed. John's doctors are shocked with how quickly he is recovering already with his healthy new liver. While the road ahead is going to be long and difficult, anybody who knows John knows he's strong enough to get through it!
Now that John is on his path to recovery, his family and friends are working hard to make sure this path is as smooth as possible. Both the medical expenses and living expenses during this recovery process are going to be astronomical. We're creating this in hopes that we can help soften to financial burden of his recovery.
We also have tshirts and decals for sale, the proceeds going to John's medical and recovery fund. If you're interest in buying one of these, get in touch with Shana Cipparone or Melissa Sell on Facebook.
Any little bit helps and whether you're donating to this fund, buying a tshirt/decal, or sending prayers and well wishes, John and his family appreciate all of it equally.
