As you may know, John had an accident on October 19th. His injuries included several breaks in his left arm and right hand, 5 facial fractures, and broken ribs. His most concerning injury was his traumatic brain injury which left him unconscious and on a ventilator for a week. He has received great care at South Bend Memorial Hospital and is still there today. After 4 surgeries including a skin graft and a lot of hardware his bones are mostly healed. John has a long road to recovery for his brain injury.
This week John was accepted into Hope Network's Neuro Rehab in Grand Rapids. He was expected to be discharged from the hospital and transferred to Hope on December 13th. Michelle and the kids were relieved that he would get the specialized rehab he needed to come home. Unfortunately, two days later they were informed John would be losing his insurance coverage. Luckily, the insurance can be continued by purchasing COBRA, but it is very expensive. Your support will help Michelle with the premium for this coverage so John is able to get the rehab he needs. Any funds beyond the insurance premiums will help with other medical expenses and lost wages.
