Hi, My name is Pete Gikas and I am Fundraising on behalf of my brother John Gikas. John has been dealing with multiple sclerosis (MS) since 2009. He has been a warrior throughout his battle and I can truly say a hero. John has been in a wheelchair for some time and over time developed some sores. Last December (2022) John was hospitalized and battled a terrible infection from these wounds. Since then he has been in and out of nursing/rehab facility. Unfortunately it looks like John will be spending another Christmas in the Hospital-- yesterday, Friday 12/15/2023 John was rushed to Lutheran General Hospital from his nursing/rehab facility with another severe infection. These infections can be prevented but these facilities are lacking staffing and mistakes happen. I am asking for some help on his behalf to help improve his quality of life and take care of him at home. Your gifts would go to: medical necessities, purchasing a wheel chair accessible vehicle, and making modifications to our home to better care for him and give all the love and support that he deserves.
