John (Johnny) Coulson Memorial Service

Donation protected
March 30, 2020 a gut feeling nagged at my mom. Her little brother, my uncle, had not responded to her in the past two days (this was unlike him). So that evening, my mother and her best friend decided to go check on him. Unfortunately, this became a day they would  never forget.

John Jacob Coulson (best known as Johnny) passed away in his sleep. He was only 38 years young with so much more of life to experience. Another travesty during the current chaotic circumstances the world is experiencing at this time.

This is the fifth loved one my family has lost in the span of 6 months.

Johnny was a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, a friend, and an overall genuine and big-hearted man.  He was the kind of man who could bring a smile to anyone's face. Johnny was a people person, a dedicated cardinals fan, kept his belongings (especially shoes) in pristine condition, an excellent writer, great with children, and loved his family more than anything in the world.

Johnny has always been super intelligent, charismatic, and anyone who knows him knows he was quite the daredevil. He wasn't afraid of a little adventure (just like his dad).

His biggest desires in life were to show those he cared about how much he loved them and to make them proud.

There is no doubt, Johnny has been through many trials and tribulations, but despite these hardships he continuously persevered to be the best man he could be.

"Mom, I know I haven't always been the greatest son, but I promise you I'm going to live the rest of my life being the man you raised me to be. And the best son ever! I love you!

There are somethings you can never hear to often, and you haven't heard them nearly enough, like how important you are to me and how much I love you. So I just wanted to tell you this today, and for everyday I've forgotten to tell you how much you mean to me. Thank you for being so special Mom. I love you!"
-Johnny (a letter to his mom)

This is a prime example of how much he wanted the people in his life to know his love and appreciation for them.

For some, 38 years may seem like a long time, but truth be told, life doesn't really start until 40.  There was so much more he was suppose to be apart of. He was suppose to be at my wedding, know my children, relive childhood memories with my mom, his sister. He was suppose to go fishing with Don. He was suppose to go hunting with his dad. He was suppose to do so much more.

So many opportunities and chances taken away far too soon.

With such a sudden and unexpected death in the midst of the pandemic crisis, funds are limited to give him the proper celebration of life.

On behalf of my family, we are asking for donations to provide the service he deserves.

Every little bit counts, and every little bit is greatly appreciated.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.  Thank you.
