Our family has just suffered a very traumatic loss. My father passed away unexpectedly following a week’s stay in the hospital. He began this journey at BRMC where we thought he had just a simple pneumonia, however he was not responding to treatment so he was shipped to Hamot in Erie. His stay at Hamot only lasted a few more days where the Doctors and staff did everything they could to help my dad. Turns out it wasn’t just a simple pneumonia. My dad was found to have Lung Cancer as well as possible Liver Cancer. The doctors suspected he was at Stage 4. It didn’t matter what the doctors tried to do, they could no longer help my dad and he rapidly began to fade. My dad passed away on October 2nd leaving behind all his loved ones. My mother is going to need help with some expenses and I and the rest of our family are only able to help so much.
