You may know him as a teacher, a coach, a friend, or simply dad. I think I speak for all my siblings when I say to us; he is all of these. More than likely you know him from his 40 + years at Kimberly High School. He can still be heard announcing the Friday night football games and cheering on his Papermakers to another State Championship.
For those of you that know my dad, you know that there isn't enough space on here to tell his story or how he has positively affected so many lives. We recently found out that my father John Malin was diagnosed with stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. He starts his battle with chemo and radiation this week, and in typical fashion he is going in with high spirits. That isn't to say he hasn't been struggling like the rest of us with the news, but he leaves the worry in God's hands. I'd say he is handling the news better than most of us.
My father has a lot of living left to do. His son Brennan is getting married in February of 2017 and he is expecting his first grandchild in May of 2017. His daughter Mckenzie is working towards her degree and will graduate soon. He has a lot to fight for and we know he will.
We greatly appreciate any form of support, whether that be monetary, cards, sharing this post, or most importantly prayers. Any monetary donations will be put towards medical bills, a laptop/internet at his home so he can email everyone non-stop, and travel expenses so I can get back home from North Carolina to be with my dad during this rough time.
We appreciate all of your support and prayers and we will hopefully have some good news soon!
P.S. We love you dad.
