Front of the Line for Heroes Foundation
Donation protected
In light of John Paul's commitment to being on the front line, his family and friends are raising donations to go towards a special fund in his name that would encourage the caring efforts of individuals in becoming first responder Heroes themselves and to provide assistance to EMT's and Paramedics in South Carolina.

"We would like to offer our sincere thanks to you all for the prayers and kind words during this time as we mourn the passing of our Son. It has been a comfort and blessing to us and it is appreciated more than you will ever know.
We are so grateful for our family, work-family, and John Paul's EMT family and for the outpouring of memories that you have shared with us. And to his friends who have offered their words of comfort to us during this time.
We cannot fully express just how thankful we are. We offer our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you." ~Paul and Laura Granger

John Paul Alonzo Granger, age 22, of Piedmont South Carolina passed away peacefully the morning of May 26th, 2020 after a long battle with Covid-19.
JP, as he was called by his family, loved life, and made it his life’s mission to help others. This was made evident by the path that he chose for himself. After graduating High School, he started driving for an ambulance company in Greenville, South Carolina, and then worked his way to becoming an EMT. His compassion for those in need is a testament to his kind and caring spirit. His motto became “I Gave Up My Life to Learn How to Save Yours”. And indeed, that is what he did. Never thinking of himself and always thinking of others. That is the life that John Paul lived!
In his free time, JP loved to go boating, take flying lessons, and was an excellent cook. He had a passion for his gaming computer and hanging out with his close friends. He loved his rescue dog “Shadow” and would spend countless hours throwing the ball with her. He had a smile that would light up any room and he was a supreme jokester. In a word, JP was genuine.
He loved his family so much and was loved by all. What a fitting way to live your life. His kind spirit will live on forever and the mark that he left on this world will never be erased.
The family offers sincere and heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of prayers and kind words during this most difficult time.
Other words expressed from first responders about John Paul:
"John Paul cared about the patients ---we take many types and in his world they became family. He uplifted so many that had given up hope and many days would be the only one that would talk to them. Many, many times notes would come into us saying 'thank you for sending the kind man to transport me.' In each note, the words, 'He Cared' came through loud and clear. When a crew would not show up, the first call would be to John Paul early in the morning and the comment was, 'these patients are family, they can't be late, I am on my way.' We recently handed out shirts to all teammates that stated, 'Heroes Work Here' and on the back was a picture of Superman who we lost."
