John Poccia

On April 10th, while doing road construction with coworkers, John was involved in an accident on Interstate 80. He and two others were hit while working. John was emergency flown to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital with multiple serious injuries. His co-workers were hurt as well. The two co-workers were seen, treated and released. We hope for them to have a speedy recovery! This accident truly hit home for many family members, friends and especially all those working in this field.

John suffered two broken legs, each with shattered bones throughout. One leg will remain non-weight-bearing for at least 3 months, while rehabilitation will be conducted on the other. John also suffered with a concussion that left him with short term memory loss.

He has already been through a number of surgeries and has been through many painful, sleepless nights. John's injuries have him facing a long road of physical therapy and recovery. John has not / will not been released to go home. For the last 2 weeks, he has been between the Hospital and Nursing Rehabilitation Facility. Currently, John is at a In-House Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Wilkes-Barre.

Without knowing when he can head home, and having many friends and family asking and wanting to help we decided to set up this GoFundMe for encouragement and support. We are hoping for this to leave John with some extra resources to help him through this difficult time and long road ahead of him with whatever he may need.
