John Prescott's recovery fund

Hi, my name is Kristy, and I work with John running Neuse River CrossFit in Raleigh NC. John is an amazing human being who has spent the last decade + helping other people better their lives through CrossFit. He is not your average coach/owner. He has been a pioneer for adaptive athletes; he opened our gym up to the sober community by running a Phoenix program for the last three years; when I signed us up to be a home for Redemption Road athletes, he did not even bat an eye. For all the years that I have known him, John is the first person to reach out his hand to help others, and now he needs our help!
In December of 2021 John went to the emergency room with stroke-like symptoms, they found a brain bleed that resulted in emergency surgery. Thankfully the surgery was a success and John survived (largely in part because he was in such great shape).
Now comes the tough stuff; the surgery left John with severe motor and speech deficits. He was recently able to go out and stay at a rehabilitation center that specializes in traumatic brain injuries, which was a great success (but a completely out-of-pocket expense). He is continuing with intense outpatient therapies now that he is back home in Raleigh. All of this has left John in some serious debt and that is where I am hoping we can help give back to the man who has given so much!
We will be hosting an event on April 9th with all the funds going back to John. This link is for anyone who is not local looking to help out. We appreciate all of the support! Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
