John Robert Burt Sr

Hi, My name is Madalyn Acre. My childhood bestfriend and her family just experienced a loss of their father. On March 11, 2023, John Robert Burt Sr. passed away surrounded by loved ones at 7:00pm. To know John, was to love him.. and i mean, truly love him.

As this time has been extremely emotional and draining for them, they know their dad has made it to be with HIS lord and savior Jesus Christ and is no longer in pain from this earthly world. He is survived by his children Bobby Burt, Star Pope, Jared Burt, Shelley Burt Silas, and Christa Burt. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him and cared for him.

As we all know, burial expenses can be very straining on a family who just lost their loved one. If you knew John, or want to support this family as they are grieving, feel free to donate to help with cost of his burial/celebration of life. The family wants you to know nobody should feel as if they have to, and if you can't, they will appreciate any prayers for peace and understanding just as much. There's also a page on here to share memories or pictures that you have with Mr. John and the family welcomes those even more than anything donated. I know they would love to hear about times he made you laugh, or cry. We all loved Mr. John. He truly had an impact on the person I am today.

We invite you to join us as we celebrate the life of John Robert Burt Sr on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Charter Funeral Home in Calera, AL from 1:00-2:00 PM. A procession to the Alabama National Cemetery for his burial service will follow, where we will honor him and his service in the U.S. Army.

We ask that those interested in making floral contributions please send them directly to Charter Funeral Home. If you wish to make any food contributions or other donations those can be dropped off at the Rice residence at 1770 Hwy 33 Pelham, AL.

Saturday, March 18th, 2023 we will continue our celebration of John's life at Helena Hollow between 7pm and 10 PM for music, food, and fellowship.
