John Rudge Statue Fund
Donation protected
The Port Vale Supporters Club have created this page to raise funds to build a statue of former Port Vale manager John Rudge. John spent almost twenty years at Vale Park, with sixteen of those being spent as manager, during which time he took the club from the bottom level of English league Football to within touching distance of the Premier League in what is now the Championship. He oversaw two promotions, three Wembley appearances and created countless memories for thousands of Port Vale fans.
That is why we, the fans, want to build this statue. We want to thank John for his years of service to Port Vale Football Club, show our gratitude for the memories he gave us, and immortalise our greatest ever manager for years to come.
The campaign aims to raise £100,000 to design, create and install the statue of John Rudge at Vale Park.
Port Vale Supporter Club Chair Mark Porter said, “Vale fans owe Rudgie a lot. He was in charge of the club during its most successful period, and for many fans, their fondest memories come from the years he was in charge. Promotion from Division Three to the Championship, wins over Everton and Spurs and trips to Wembley. Now it’s time for us to give him something back as a thank you for those memories and we feel a statue is the best way to do that. We want Vale fans from generations to come know just how special and important he was to Port Vale”.
Should money in excess of that required to complete the statue be received, this will be transferred to our "Stand Together" Lorne Street campaign.
This is an opportunity to show our gratitude to John for all of the memories he's given us and for his service to Port Vale.
Thank you all - Port Vale Supporters Club.
