John Sheldon going to Standing Rock

"I have been invited to go to Standing Rock in North Dakota to support those brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews in their effort to halt the Dakota Access Pipeline. I‘ll be leaving for ND on November 19 as part of a group that is bringing a heated MASH portable medical tent to the main camp.
Over the last few years, it has been more and more apparent to me that what makes our world unique is its water. Most of the music I have made has been, in effect, a prayer to the water.
The people at Standing Rock are are praying over the water. They are practicing the deep ecology of prayer to the elements that make up our world.
When I have prayed at Native American ceremonies I have witnessed the beauty and respect that the people have for life in all of its forms.
I simply cannot go on with my life as long as the water protectors are being persecuted.
