John and his family have lived in Atkins, IA since 2000. John and Karen have been married 32 years and have 4 children; Wes, Olivia/Levi Montague, Emily, Kristen and new grandson Conway John.
John spent 14 year in the Army serving in the Infantry and Signal Corps. He has worked in the electrical sales industry for the last 30 years.
It was a shock when John was diagnosed with Follicular Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma grade 3b in mid October 2019 with no symptoms except a mild swollen lymphnode on his neck. Two biopsies and further testing confirmed the results.
John will be going through various agressive treatments that will be 5 days/ week for 90-100 days. The advanced treatment will slow, stop and hopefully put this disease into remission. Unfortunately the treatment is out of state and comes with an extremely high price.
The Skow family is asking for the following if it's in your heart:
1. Pray for John and his daily treatments that they will be successful. Pray for a quick recovery with minimal side effects.
2. Pray for the family during the time John is gone, especially during the holiday seasons.
3. Lastly, with the extreme cost of at least $100,000, we are asking for any donations you are called to give. This money will cover medical treatments, housing, food, and travel. Expenses will begin accumulating November 12th.
