John Stewart Medical Journey

Hi, my name is Nathan Stewart and I'm fundraising for my parents in the wake of my Dad's medical challenges due to COVID-19, respiratory failure, and hospitalization since December 18th. So many of you have been impacted by John & Valerie Stewart and their family, whether through McFarland Nature Park, Lebanon Baptist Church, insurance care, personal friendships or family. I know that as a part of their community, you have felt their kind, loving, and serving presence for decades.

Dad is currently facing immense physical challenges and has a long road to recovery ahead. In the wake of his hospitalization there are continued financial challenges for Mom and Jenny who are currently supported by Dad and his work. Dad's care is also a concern as doctors are trying to find a facility that can house Dad; this will be an additional cost. Additionally, medical bills are adding up by the day; contributing to an already overwhelming burden on the family.

Despite all this, we are grateful that God is in control of all things. Dad has lived a life dependent on the Lord and His will in Dad's life; as a family, we are trusting the hope that God is in control of all things and promises to meet the needs of his people. We have already seen God work in ways that are miraculous and encouraging through this tragedy and many of you have been a part of those blessings.

However, many have also expressed their desire to help and have wondered if there was anything they could do. I have had several reach out about the desire/need to start a GoFundMe and at this point we feel like this platform may provide some opportunity for you to contribute to the security and well being of a family that has meant so much to so many for so long.

Currently our prayers are that Dad will be able to make a full recovery, but we know the road to that goal will be long and marked by months, not days. We are also praying that Mom will be able to navigate the business challenges of ongoing insurance agencies; she has already been very busy trying to step into the vacancy left by Dad to keep things running for the next several months. There are financial hurdles in both of these outcomes and we are looking to raise enough money to provide for Mom and Jenny as they navigate the interim of Dad's absence from work, and to offset some of the burden of the medical bills associated with extended hospital care.
