Save John The Cat
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Carolina and I’m fundraising to help John, the friendly neighbourhood cat. He’s a stray cat that lives in the garden of our building, there’s a group of neighbours that love and feed him everyday, we even built a little house for him. He has been recently diagnosed with a severe heart condition.
On October 28th we noticed that he was having trouble breathing and he was in pain. We brought him inside and he spent the night panting, wheezing and not moving. We took him to the vet in the morning and the vet said that he had fluid in his lungs, although the cause was not clear. They took him to get an X Ray, and ultrasound and blood works. He was diagnosed with a condition called HCM, which makes it hard for his heart to pump blood.
He spent the night at the emergency vets, he was receiving oxygen and started treatment to help release the liquid in his chest. He also started taking blood thinners. He responded really well to treatment and his breathing got better.
This is a condition that will require ongoing treatment and care. We know times are really tough for everyone but we would really appreciate any donations to help cover the cost of his bills. We have already paid for some of it but the bills are likely to get more expensive with the treatment required.
John has come a long way, he was abandoned by his previous owner and left alone in an apartment for a few weeks. When they finally found him he was traumatised, ran out to the garden and has stayed there for at least 4 years. He was super scared of humans at the beginning, but with love, patience and food we have gained his trust. He truly brightens our days everyday, please help us get him better.
