John Thomas Torrisi
John Thomas Torrisi, who most family and friends affectionately call JT, is a warm-hearted, 8-year-old boy whose smile lights up a room. JT is a selfless young man that gets the most pleasure from making others happy and enjoying the simple things in life. JT is a beloved third grade student at Woodland Elementary School in Warren, NJ.
On the evening of February 12th, JT was taken to Overlook Emergency Room after complaining of a headache and subsequent vomiting. After extensive testing, a CT scan showed that JT had a brain bleed. Upon learning this, a medical decision was made to immediately transfer JT to Morristown Memorial’s Pediatric ICU for urgent care. The following morning, JT fell into a coma. Further testing showed he had suffered two small strokes. As of the creation of this GoFundMe, he is currently in critical, but stable condition. Doctor’s will not be able to fully evaluate the extent of the injury until the swelling and blood in his brain reduce.
JT is surrounded by the love of Jessica, his mother and Thomas, his grandfather. Jessica, is a dedicated single mother that has always put JT first. She has understandably decided to remain at his bedside until he is conscious and rehabilitated.
Jessica is the sole caretaker of JT and his critical care is her priority. Jessica will need to be with JT to make daily medical decisions and emotionally support him. Many people have asked how they can help Jessica and JT at his time. Simply stated, we ask that you share this campaign, donate to help offset any bills she may accrue during JT’s immediate recovery and anticipated therapy, and pray that JT heals and regains his strength during this critical time in their family’s life.
