John “Turkey” Stearns fight against Cancer

John “Turkey” Stearns started his law enforcement career in 1999 as a Sheriff in Arizona. In 2008, John joined the Lincoln Park Police Department and was recently promoted to Sergeant.  In 2010, he also became a member of the Downriver SWAT Team serving as an Operator/Sniper. Throughout his career, John has followed the adage of “lead by example” as all of his coworkers and teammates would agree.

Recently in the early summer of 2020, John sought medical advice for pain he was experiencing in his flank area.  On June 26th through an MRI, it was determined that John has pancreatic cancer.  Currently, John is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy to help fight the cancer.
