John Wyatt’s Journey

Donation protected
Hi! It is with great sadness that I create this account... but sometimes, life throws you some curveballs, and that’s where my family is at this time. On December 20, 2018, our family was shaken to the core. My 3 month old nephew, John Wyatt, was diagnosed with what we were told was possibly bilateral retinoblastoma. For those who don’t know what that means, it’s basically malignant tumors behind both eyes. After many doctor’s appointments in Atlanta, and my brother in law and sister in law (Brady and Jaclyn) traveling to Memphis, TN to get a second opinion from St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the diagnosis of bilateral retinoblastoma was confirmed. They were accepted to St. Jude definitively, and John Wyatt had an Enucleation (entire removal of the left eye) performed on Friday, January 11, 2019. He will receive his “new eye” in a few months. While one major hurdle has been completed, there are many more to come. He will now begin months of chemo to treat the tumor in his right eye. While they have been very blessed to receive care from St. Jude, Brady and Jaclyn will have to endure months of traveling back and forth from Georgia to Tennessee for his treatment, as well as medical bills to have his labs monitored, among other things. Brady and Jaclyn are both unable to work at this time, so they can devote all their time to their precious son in order to give him the best care possible. Anyone who knows Brady and Jaclyn at all can attest to the fact that they are wonderful Christians who never ask for help (even when they need it). At this time, they are relying solely on the Lord to meet all their needs whether they be emotional or financial. I want to take some of the burden off of them so they don’t have to worry about their finances at this time, as they should be the least of their worries. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. And prayers are always coveted! Thank you so much, and please feel free to share!
