John Wyatt’s Kidney Transplant

Hello! My name is Aileene Wyatt, and I am the wife of John Wyatt. I am raising funds for John and the expenses that we will be enduring for his kidney transplant.

John had his first native kidney removed when he was in high school. It was then that John was told that his remaining kidney was not a normal functioning kidney. Fast forward to 2021 when he fractured his hand while working his job. It was during his hand surgery that his blood pressure alerted his doctor to the severe need to be following up with a specialist. It was then that he was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure. He was referred to 3 different transplant centers.

Luckily, his mom, Linda Wyatt, has volunteered to be a living donor and she was ultimately approved in 2022 by the Cleveland Clinic.

John will be receiving his transplant on January 11th and will be out of work from his job without pay for a least 3 months due to not yet being eligible for sick leave. I am luckily able to take FMLA with the PTO that I have accumulated to be his primary caregiver for the first 3 weeks-1 month. However, we have a 2 year old son, J.R., that we will also be caring for during this time, all while expecting our second baby, due March 21st of this year. As many probably could imagine with living only on my income, caring for a toddler, preparing for our second baby, many medical bills, expensive anti-rejection medications, and basic living bills (house payment, utilities, car payments, ect.) we are feeling pretty overwhelmed. We are not normally people to ask for help, or handouts, but with these circumstances we know that it is time for us to reach out to our loved ones and friends for any small donation that they would be willing to contribute. We are so grateful for this transplant! This transplant will help John be the best dad to his two babies that he can be. Anything helps, and we are so very thankful for all of you for the love and support!
