Johnathon R. Ode Memorial Fund

Last night, Tuesday 1/17/17, Steve and Katie Ode lost their son Johnathon in a tragic car accident. John had recently turned 18 and was a senior at DeKalb High. He was looking forward to being an adult and out on his own but was also enjoying being a big brother to little Louis who joined the family in October 2015. As Johnathon was leaving the house last night, baby Lou crawled after him toward the front door as if he wanted to tag along. Katie bid John farewell with "Bye Big Brother!" That he will be, to the end.
John's entire extended family is reeling from this loss. Many friends have been asking where they can donate to assist Steve and Katie with the unexpected funeral costs. They have asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Johnathon R. Ode Memorial Fund, here through gofundme.com or addressed to the Ode Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
Funds raised here will go directly to pay for the costs of the funeral service and later burial. The Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
