John David DiCarlo Memorial Fund

John David DiCarlo's life was cut short by cancer at age 53 on October 15, 2016. He was a husband to Kathleen DiCarlo of over 25 years and a father to David and Colleen DiCarlo, a great brother to me and a friend to many .
When I picked him up  in my arms and carried him to my car on the way to the hospice, he cracked a joke after I placed him in the front seat.  That was John David.  He knew he was going to pass on and in the face of death he found humor. His struggle against cancer was not going to take who he was away from him. He had as it was less than 11 hours of life and he was defiant to the end. Cancer could take his body but not his spirit.
John had a laugh that was contagious. When you heard it you just felt better. He had a great smile, and when he talked to you there was genuine interest. That was why we all loved him and that is why there are friends and family that want to help.
John had not finished his mission, All he could talk to me about at the end was how he could provide for his wife and children. At 53 not too many of us could say that if I passed on today my family is secure.
Mortgage payments, college tuition and board, weddings, subsistance for his family , reducing debt are among the goals of this Go Fund Me initiative, some of which need


to be funded immediately.  Other critical issues are that the family cannot access social security for 5 years. John's recent job change had less than two years of vesting. Coupled with all of the fund's goals, the family  after  losing their rock now has a fragile financial foundation.  Its going to be tough .
It is our hope that the inspiration that John bestowed upon us throughout his life will make a diffence to us all. A diffence that will encourage us to help John finish his mission. John will be forever grateful to you and  we hope the memory of who he was will nestle inside us all and make us just feel better.
