Build my dream
Spende geschützt
Hi, my name is John George and I'm an ameature automobile builder and racer.
This year I was fortunate enough to win the 2016 NASA Championships at Watkins Glen in the Super Touring 2 class with a car I built, maintain, and race for the past 11 years, a Factory Five Challenge Cobra replica.
The win at Nationals was mostly luck. The competition, BMW and Corevette collided on the last lap taking eachother out gifting me the win! My Cobra was no match for the BMW and Corvettes on the straights, and I am running into the same problem that Carroll Shelby ran into back in the mid 1960's when competing on a world stage against Ferrari. The Cobra has horrible aerodynamics. Shelby's solution was the Daytona Coupe, an aerodynamic body able to keep up with the fast cars of the day. Shelby would end up beating the competition with his Daytona Coupe, I dream of doing the same.
Factory Five Racing has a Daytona Coupe kit car that I want to transform into a race car to compete with the likes of BMW's, and Corvette's. With better aerodynamics I truly believe I can outrun those OEM cars with a home built car! A great feat for sure.
I plan to re-use all of the stuff in the existing Cobra, take enging, transmission, etc. out and install it in the new Daytona Coupe kit.
Im asking to raise enough funds to cover the cost of the base Facotory Five Daytona Coupe kit, $16K

I post race reports and updates to my website constently, johngeorgeracing.com, with lots of pictures and all the incar race videos.
