As We Rally Around Johnna Cole -- Let's Join Forces to Offer Our Help During This Difficult Time

On July 18, Johnna was driving her car with her 5-year-old daughter when she began to experience, what she thought was a heart attack. Chest pains that quickly followed with loss of function in her arms and legs. She realized they were in danger and needed to get the car stopped for their safety but was unable to reach for her phone. She acted quickly by asking her daughter to unbuckle so she could get the phone to call her dad for help while Johnna attempted to get the car pulled over and stopped. She knew she needed to protect her child. By the grace of God, they were safe and stopped at a local small-town restaurant, named Harmancos, where everybody knows your name! Olivia ran in for help. Johnna collapsed. Paramedics responded quickly and she was rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed with sudden onset paralysis from her shoulders down but with no known cause as to why. She was then airlifted to the hospital in Charlotte NC for care. Johnna remained in the hospital for 8 days and then prematurely discharged home on July 26. Everyone’s focus is to ensure Johnna gets the best possible care that she can. However, she does not have medical insurance coverage and needed an acute rehab center for which she was denied. During this challenging time, Johnna will be unable to work, leaving them in a fiscally vulnerable position and making it very hard to provide for her family. As friends and family of Johnna's we want to do everything we can to help her, and we know that others do too. Medical bills are mounting. Johnna's recovery will take a while, and there will be many more obstacles that she and her significant other, Chris, and the family will have to face. Our hope is that monetary stressors from medical bills will not be one of those obstacles. Any amount you can provide would be greatly appreciated by Johnna, Chris, and their children.
