Johnnie Bristow's Funeral Fund
Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family,
I am writing to you today with a very heavy heart, to let you know about the sudden passing of Johnnie Bristow, Sr. He left behind 3 children (Johnnie Jr., Mackenzie K, and Waders) & 8 grandchildren.
He went missing on February 29th after a long struggle with depression and substance abuse. Soon after his disappearance, a close family member who Johnnie was staying with filed a missing person’s report and then notified the rest of the family.
After almost 2 weeks of intense worry and prayerful angst from his children and close relatives, on Thursday March 12th the family was notified by the Phoenix, AZ Police Department that Johnnie’s body had been found.
Our worst fears had been realized; Johnnie had taken his own life.
Although we knew Johnnie had a history of struggle with depression & substance abuse, the last couple of years he appeared to be conquering many of his past demons. There was a glimmer of hope in all of us as we watched him get free of alcohol and drugs and even begin reestablishing his concrete company.
We are absolutely devastated by Johnnie’s passing.
Although this sad turn of events comes with an overwhelming emotional cost, the financial responsibilities are also overwhelming.
Johnnie’s body is being transported from Phoenix, AZ to Riverton, UT on Tuesday of this coming week, and this adds an additional cost to an already expensive funeral charge.
Although we appreciate your prayers and emotional support, our urgent need is financial support.
We are struggling to find the funds to cover the cost of the service, which will be held on Saturday March 21st, 2pm @ Larkin Mortuary in Riverton, UT
We will need to pay all funeral costs by March 20th, before the viewing, which will be held Friday 6:00-8:00 pm at the same place; the funeral home requires all costs to be paid in full up front.
I’ve started a fundraiser to collect donations for Johnnie’s funeral service.
Please consider donating if you are able to do so. We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.
With love,
Ellen Kelsch Bristow
