For Johnnie Lindsey

Donation protected
Today we lost a special soul, Johnnie Lindsey, who died tragically from cancer.  Johnnie spent more than 25 years in prison for a crime he did not commit.  DNA results proved his actual innocence.  Johnnie was graceful, a talented musician, a good friend, an advocate for justice, and was  loved by so many.  Johnnie deeply loved his wife Sherita. Although he received compensation for his wrongful conviction, there is no money available to support Sherita as she begins a new chapter in her life, and starts the process of living on her own. These funds which you will so graciously share will also help cover burial and funeral costs, and mounting medical bills.  Johnnie changed so many lives, increased awareness about wrongful conviction, and fought to change laws in order to protect others from his same fate.  Through his volunteer work with House of Renewed Hope, he investigated cases of alleged wrongful conviction in order to fight for the freedom of others behind bars. His dying worry was for Sherita to be taken care of.  Please help to fulfill his last wish; and give him a service that a man of his character deserves.
