Johnny Barcenas Fund Raiser
My brother Johnny has been battling stage 4 colon cancer for the past 3 1/2 years.
As part of his journey dealing with Colon Cancer, Johnny has had multiple major surgeries, years of chemotherapy treatments and numerous CT scans.
As we all continue to hope, pray and battle this with Johnny. The state of Johnny's health is not the outcome that he, his wife Lizbeth and our family expected, so the time we have left with him is even more precious.
In January 2021, Johnny found out that the cancer had spread from his colon to his liver. And, now, it has reached his lungs with a prognosis of 6 months left to live.
Three weeks ago, we found out his liver is in the process of shutting down. Johnny's cancer is now considered terminal and he is in hospice care.
Johnny has decided to live each day that he has left as best as he can and to focus on enjoying every moment he has with his family & friends.
There comes a time in life, when everyone will face our day of rest. Most of us will not be given a timeline. Nor the multiple timelines, for that matter, which Johnny has received. This is a major battle for Johnny, alone. Johnny has endured his battle and, naturally, put his trust in God's plan and God's timing for when his time comes to rest.
As much as we have tried to accomplish bucket-lists, spend time together and create lifelong memories with Johnny, the reality sets in every day that his time is coming.
This leads to where we are now and doing what HE wishes to accomplish, while he can. Johnny, being a caring, loving husband, brother and son to us all, wishes to alleviate the concerns and debt that will arrise when his time comes to rest. Given this, Johnny wants to raise money to help offset expenses for his funeral. Johnny has asked our brother Joey and I to start a "Go Fund Me”, because in his words, "My story is not Bullshit. It needs to be heard!"
All donations will go solely to Johnny’s funeral expenses.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us during this unreal time in our lives. All the love, support, encouragement, and help is overwhelming.
From Johnny & our family, we can’t thank everyone enough.
