Johnny Castro-A New Life

PLEASE READ: If you go to the original go fund me on my FB page, I have added that it does say Mary Ramirez but all the funds are going to Johnny. I used Stella’s (Johnny’s sister)  email address because Johnny could not accept the go fund me invite as he was in surgery at the time.  Stella had previously made a go fund me for Mary Ramirez using her email address. Go Fund Me recognized the email and it defaulted to Mary Ramirez.  Rest assure that ALL monies will go to Johnny Castro.

Dear Family & Friends,

Our brother, Johnny Castro, has been fighting liver cancer and cirrhosis of the liver (non-alcohol) since January 2021. Today, he is being blessed with a new liver as he is undergoing a liver transplant. Johnny has had a very tough year but through prayer and resilience he has been able to get to this point in his life.

Johnny’s doctors are located in San Antonio, Texas, at The University Hospital, the nation’s #1 Liver Transplant Hospital. Johnny and his wife, Yolanda, live in Burnet, Texas, which is about 2 and half hours from San Antonio. He and Yolanda have made many trips to San Antonio this year for Johnny’s medical care. They have suffered many ups and downs as this is the fourth attempt for him to get a new liver. Johnny has faced it like a champ and thank God, this is his turn now.

Once Johnny is out of surgery he will be in ICU for 2-3 days. Thereafter, he will remain hospitalized for two weeks. Yolanda will be with him throughout this entire time. Unfortunately, she will have to stay at a hotel as The University Hospital does not have any free/low cost places to stay.

We, the Castro family, are requesting your much needed assistance! Once Johnny is released from the hospital he will need to stay near the hospital to be seen daily for various medical scans and checkups, to ensure his liver is working well. He and Yolanda will need to stay in a hotel for 4-5 weeks. The cost of medication, hotel stays plus eating expenses will surely add up quickly. We know he will be needing various medications and do not know yet how much the cost will be; however, they will be very expensive.

Any amount of contribution will help our brother Johnny and his wife, Yolanda. Our brother has always been a “giver” and would give anyone the shirt off his back to help him/her. He is faithful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and has always served Him with his big heart! This Go-Fund-Me is set up to go directly to Yolanda and Johnny’s account, allowing them to pay for all expenses immediately.

Johnny and Yolanda also need your prayers as they trek this very difficult journey together. We, his family, are truly grateful for this miracle that God has bestowed on our brother. Thank you, in advance, for your prayers and may God bless you and your families.
